Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,
Christ is risen! Truly He is risen!
In the Maronite liturgical tradition, Easter is the radiant summit of our journey with Christ. Throughout Passion Week, we walk with the Lord through suffering, betrayal, and death. But with the dawn of Resurrection Sunday, the Church cries out with joy: O Christ, by Your death You conquered death, and by Your resurrection You gave us life!
St. Ephrem the Syrian, whose poetic genius illuminates the faith of our Syriac heritage, writes: “The Lamb rose up and shepherded us, and gave us His body as food, and His blood as drink. Blessed is His resurrection!” (Hymns on the Resurrection, 1:8). This image, so deeply Eucharistic, reveals the heart of our Easter celebration: Christ is not only risen — He remains with us, feeding us with His very life.
Let us welcome the Risen Lord with faith, allow His light to shine into the tombs of our despair, and live as witnesses of His victory.
A blessed and joyful Easter to you and your families. May the peace of the risen Christ reign in your hearts.
